“Ham Fried Rice” Veggie Style
Jane Day Jane Day is co-author with Dr. John Day of "The Longevity Plan," documenting their journey to China's Longevity Village. "Preparing food for guests has always been a stressful thing - feeling inadequate and fearing that the dishes wouldn't turn out. Posting recipes has been an exercise in the ultimate confrontation of this fear. Gratefully, the joy in figuring out how to make favorite dishes with healthier ingredients now exceeds the fear and I take courage in the idea that maybe I can help someone else do the same." |

After reading the “questionable” 14 day menu on pages 284 to 289 of The Afib Cure book it is nice to see that there are some “real” recipes here on the web site.
I’d love to see the calorie count for the recipes posted.
Hi Sandi, I have found liquid aminos in nearly any grocery store, certainly Whole Foods, usually in the Asian section near the soy sauce and rice vinegar. BRAGG Liquid Aminos is the brand I’ve found. It is also on Amazon:

Where can I buy liquid amines? I’ve never heard of it. What are the benefits?
Thank you!
Mrs. Day,
I am going to try this recipe tomorrow and can’t wait. It looks so yummy. I sure wish you would publish all these great dishes. I am on a a program that allows me to count calories. I write everything down daily on what I eat. I allow myself between 1200-1500 calories a day. No snacking in between meals. One thing that keeps me from nibbling is sucking on ice. I can do this with no problem. I go through a 32 oz. cup four times a day. I wake up between 6:30 and 7:00 AM. I had a pace maker placed and it makes the difference between night and day. By the way, my cardiologist is adorable. Oh my goodness, I am writing a journal. Thank you again for all the yummy foods. Can’t wait till your next post.
Dear Sharon! Thank you for your kind and beautiful comments. You share some gems here for all of us. I too have found writing to be such a powerful tool for mindful eating. Grazing has long been a pattern of mine which I work to replace with alternatives as well—walking, reading, breathing, painting, writing…I have not enjoyed a cup of ice and I believe I will prepare one for myself to enjoy tomorrow! Thank you so much for taking the time to write and share your great example of willingness, creativity and dedication. I wish you the very best in your journey! Fondly, Jane
