Not related to this podcast but related to healthy foods. I hear about the health benefits of Manuka Honey. I wonder if there has been any scientific studies on the claims for this medical marvel ?
Hi Blair,
A great question! Despite the health claims of “honey,” in my mind, it is still mostly sugar. Here is an article I previously wrote on honey: https://drjohnday.com/honey-vs-high-fructose-corn-syrup/
Given the metabolic toxicities of sugar, especially when it comes to insulin sensitivity, I encourage people to minimize or avoid all forms of sugar (which includes honey).
Hope this helps!
John
